Tell me about your Interceptor

Owners, please tell me about what you like (and dont like ) about your Interceptor.
I have been contemplating buying one since I bought a Classic 350 a couple of months ago. At the same time I am trying to pit it against the Kawasaki W800 which is also a very nice machine, Only went to the dealer and sat on both for a little bit. The 2 little things on the INT 650 that bothered me was, one, the grips seemed so wimpy compared to my Classic 350 which has beautiful comfortable grips, as does the Kawi. And two, the gauges, to me as an amatuer seemed a little more forward than I fancy for. I'm sure the rake angle on the fork has something to do with it.

Fire away fellas

I love the view forward from the saddle. Grips aren't very nice I might find an aftermarket solution. I've only had mine 6 days I have 146 miles on it and absolutely love it. It is a very smooth driveline and a very comfortable riding position.
The w800 has tire issues and only a 5 speed tranny it is beautiful though. Interceptor has the most color choices of any bike I've looked at so that helps with looks. I got sunset strip.
Sunset strip is my favorite too (y)
Absolutely love mine. Replace seat, grips and enjoy! Only problem is you get addicted to doing just one more thing. Like every other bike I've ever owned, it never really ends. Make it yours.

What is it about the tires that is the problem?
I kind of scoured the web, didn't really find any info. I did heard from more than one reviewer mentioning that the mirror views suck :cautious:

I read they track terribly in rain grooved pavement. That wouldn’t be a concern where I live SE US. But anywhere that has a lot of grooved pavement it could be a pain in the ass. To be honest I bought my RE cause it was so darn cheap
Gotcha.
We generally don't have grooved pavements here in NY, at least where I live and ride, just nasty potholes. LOL
As far as the RE price, yeah that's a biggie between the INT650 and the W. Easily a couple of thousand. Makes a fella think it over real good :)
I liked several Kawasaki's the z900 rs and z650rs have very modern mechanicals and retro styling. I like having an air cooled bike not having to worry about coolant and the associated plumbing.
Re-read original post and yes the grips aren't great I just installed grip puppies which were only 10 bucks I think they are an improvement only ridden about 7 miles since install. I haven't looked closely at Classic that sucks they have nice grips and interceptor didn't get them. I'll say again I really like the view forward of the gauges and the road it is nearly identical to my old Honda. It has a lot to do with what you are used to I guess.
