Classic bullet 500 chain issue

497 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Bweighmaster
Hi everyone, I have a bullet 500 pegasus, done 4,700 miles. I thought the chain had stretched very unevenly so bought and fitted a new chain.
The new one is exactly the same, with huge differences between tight spots and slack areas.
Any ideas please?
Many thanks.

The chain on my 500 Classic did the same at about 3500 miles. Ideally, the sprockets should be changed with the chain. Putting a new chain on worn sprockets does not fix much. Also I hope you replaced the chain with a high-quality one rather than the OEM garbage. A quality well-care-for chain should last 10,000 to 30,000 miles of on-road use.
Always best to use same manufacturer for chains and sprockets. Replace with matched sets ....
