I can't answer about parts availability in the USA but can talk about the relaxed riding attitude you get riding the Classic 350. Depending on what you've run previously (in my case an Indian Scout) I find riding the 350 such a relaxing change of pace.

As you say, the weak spot for the latest classic is its service interval. A 300-mile first service and valve checks every 3000 miles beyond that is a pain, especially if you are a fair distance from the dealer. Fortunately, there are some videos available on-line describing how to do these checks and everything else beyond that should be straight forward if you know your way around a bike.

If you want a simple life, you could always look at a Japanese retro with their 10000+ service intervals (and double price tag), but what would be the fun with that?
